Casual Dinner Outfit

Hey, everyone!  I hope you are all having a fabulous and relaxing weekend.  I wanted to show you the outfit I wore to my former teaching colleague’s retirement dinner this past week.  This is an outfit I would have worn when I was a teacher.  The dress code is usually business casual for teachers, so I thought this outfit was suitable  (Ha- or not SUIT-able…get it?  Okay, bad pun..) for the occasion.  It’s actually on the casual end of the business casual spectrum, but hey, it’s summertime!

The only item that is new here is the dress-  It is an Apt. 9 Studded Fit and Flare Dress from Kohl’s.  It’s cute, it’s stylish, it’s comfortable, and it has pockets.  You really cannot go wrong- especially when it is on sale for $24.99!  I will have this piece in my closet for a very long time because of the reasons I just mentioned and because it is extremely versatile.  You can dress it up, down, and anywhere in between.CasualDinnerOutfitPocketCasualDinnerOutfitFull

Here are the details for my other items:

  • Denim jacket- Abercrombie and Fitch (This jacket has been hanging around FOREVER.  Love it.)
  • Purse- Michael Kors (purchased last year at TJ Maxx)
  • Necklace- Lucky Brand (purchased at TJ Maxx)
  • Bangles- Alex and Ani (can’t get enough of these!!)
  • Sandals- Enzo Angiolini (purchased from Macy’s few years ago)

Do you think I chose the right outfit for the retirement dinner?  Even if I didn’t, I had so much fun surprising the retiree.  She didn’t know I was coming!  We had become very close since we co-taught some students and had neighboring classrooms!  Plus, she put up with me when I was pregnant.  Sorry, K!  xoxo

That’s what’s up in business casual style.  Thank you all for reading!
